Substance Abuse Services

At New Beginnings Counseling Services (NBCS) our purpose is to provide treatment and restorative interventions to: Assist individuals with mental health, psychiatric, and substance abuse issues to gain access to necessary services; reduce psychiatric and addiction symptoms, and develop optimal community living skills.

NBCS’s Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP):
NBCS’s SAIOP program is a drug or alcohol rehabilitation center with a primary focus on mental health and substance abuse treatment based at 1518 S. Horner Blvd., Sanford, NC 27330. This is an outpatient care service, which is designed for special groups and populations such as adolescents, adults, pregnant and postpartum women, DUI and DWI offenders, and criminal offenders.

NBCS’s Substance Abuse Comprehensive Outpatient Program (SACOT):
NBCS’s “SACOT” is a periodic service that is a time limited, multi-faceted approach treatment service for adults who require structure and support to achieve and sustain recovery. The “SACOT” program emphasizes a reduction in use and abuse of substances and/or continued abstinence, the negative consequences of substance abuse, development of social support network and necessary lifestyle changes, educational skills, vocational skills leading to work activity by reducing substance abuse as a barrier to employment social and interpersonal skills, improved family functioning, the understanding of addictive disease, and the continued commitment to a recovery and maintenance program. This program operates during the day and evening hours to enable individuals to maintain residence in their community, continue to work or go to school, and be a part of their family life.
